Entry requirements

Visa & Passport

Visa requirements vary by nationality. Many African Union member states and a growing number of other countries benefit from visa-free or visa-on-arrival access. Check your specific nationality’s requirements well in advance of travel.

  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for entry)
Health & wellbeing

Travel health

A valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is mandatory on entry. Malaria is present year-round — anti-malarial prophylaxis is strongly recommended; consult a physician 4–6 weeks before departure. Standard vaccinations recommended include hepatitis A and B, typhoid, tetanus-diphtheria, and polio boosters.

Money & payments

Ghanaian Cedi (GHS)

The official currency of Ghana is the Ghanaian Cedi (GHS). Major hotels, restaurants, and conference facilities in Accra widely accept Visa and Mastercard. USD is also widely accepted and exchangeable at competitive rates — exchange at the airport, accredited banks, or licensed forex bureaus, and avoid informal street exchanges.

Getting there

Kotoka International Airport

Accra is served by Kotoka International Airport (KIA — IATA: ACC), roughly 10–15 minutes from the conference venue by road, with direct flights from major African hubs including Lagos, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Addis Ababa and Kigali, plus intercontinental flights from Europe, the Middle East and North America.
